Jesse Helms has died. This man leaves behind a legacy of hatred, ego fueled partisanship, and racist, homophobic and misogynist
blathering that contributed to the decline of civil discourse in this country more than most care to acknowledge. Two down.

Can we expect Trent Lott to give the eulogy?
I called my folks yesterday and shared the good news...my Dad's response was "the devil is dancin' tonight!"
he should not be missed.
For about a nano-second I felt bad for rejoicing at someone's death, and then I came to my senses. What an asshole he was.
Ding Dong he's dead, indeed!
May he come back as a black lesbian in a wheelchair.
A point of clarity: I do have compassion for his family having experienced a loss. However, I am glad Helms is no longer breathing my air. I have a hard time finding forgiveness for his behavior in the late 80's and early 90's. when all my friends were dying of AIDS. Instead of showing compassion, he was the vocal mouthpiece for the republican party, spewing hateful lies about AIDS and the people who had it.
Well all feel for his family, but I have not one good word to say about that man and I truly feel the world is better of without him. I hope Jesus is wagging his finger in Jesse's face as we speak.
